In the academic term of 2012-13, theaTORS transformed from a club to a full-fledged society. The administrative structure was changed radically. The members of theaTORS were categorized into Actors, Script-writers and Stage-managers. Apart from this basic distinction, the society was lead by a team of four – two Joint-Presidents and two Joint-Vice-Presidents. The work of the society was carried out with the constant support and guidance of its three elder members.

To glimpse at the past year, the activities of this society, in a nutshell, include the following:

1.      theaTORS began the year on a celebratory note on October 11th, 2012, by winning the 2nd prize at its first performance at the short-skit competition organized by “Darpan” – the Dramatics Club of Amity Law School, Centre II. theaTORS had performed a skit entitled “Vidhwa ki Shaadi” which was a play based on honour killing.

2.      Next up on theaTORS’ roster was the Annual Fest organized by Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi (IIT-D) also known as “Rendezvous”. theaTORS performed an adaptation of the “Blithe Spirit” on the 19th of October.

3.      In the New Year, on the 25th of February, theaTORS struck gold again by securing the first prize at a skit competition organized under the Human Values Quarter by “Darpan” of ALS II. The skit performed at this competition was “Destiny’s Child”, based on female foeticide.

4.      “Destiny’s Child” proved to be a lucky charm for theaTORS on the 8th March, 2013, when it won the 1st prize once again at a Skit Competition – “Pour La Femme”, organised under the Human Values Quarter by Amity International Business School.

5.      theaTORS closed the year with a performance of the alternate version of “4.48 Psychosis” at the Amity Youth Fest on the 22nd of March, 2013.

This year, some changes have been made to the administrative structure of theaTORS. theaTORS has set his goals even higher for this year. We plan to conquer many platforms across the city and even across the nation! Here’s to a fresh new year full of wonderful possibilities!

Good Luck, theaTORS!
